A board-certified physician with more than a decade of experience, she saw a pattern the ER cannot fix: patients told their labs were “normal” while they quietly lost their energy, their sleep, and their confidence. Star Wellness MD is her answer — a physician-led practice where prevention, wellness, and aesthetics are one continuous conversation, before crisis ever arrives.

From our clinic in Universal City — minutes from San Antonio — and through telehealth across the state, Dr. Okafor personally leads every program: medical weight loss, hormone therapy for women, testosterone replacement, snoring & sleep apnea care, and medical aesthetics. As an emergency medicine physician, a wife, and a mother, I know firsthand how hard it is to put your own health first while carrying everyone else’s.
My years in the ER showed me how many crises begin quietly — in the symptoms we dismiss and the visits we postpone. I built Star Wellness MD so that taking charge of your health doesn’t require a crisis first.

Star Wellness MD is founded and led by Dr. Nwando Okafor, MD, a board-certified physician with over a decade of experience. She earned her medical degree from UCLA and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Chicago.
Both. In-person visits and procedures are available at our Universal City, TX clinic near San Antonio, and weekday and weekend telehealth visits are available to patients anywhere in Texas.
